يَـٰٓأَيُّہَا ٱلۡمُزَّمِّلُ (١)

English Sahih : O you who wraps himself [in clothing], (1)

Deutsch Aburida : O du Verhüllter! (1)

قُمِ ٱلَّيۡلَ إِلَّا قَلِيلاً۬ (٢)

English Sahih : Arise [to pray] the night, except for a little - (2)

Deutsch Aburida : Verbringe die Nacht stehend (im Gebet) bis auf wenige Zeit davon (2)

نِّصۡفَهُ ۥۤ أَوِ ٱنقُصۡ مِنۡهُ قَلِيلاً (٣)

English Sahih : Half of it - or subtract from it a little (3)

Deutsch Aburida : die Hälfte von ihr, oder verringere sie ein wenig (3)

أَوۡ زِدۡ عَلَيۡهِ وَرَتِّلِ ٱلۡقُرۡءَانَ تَرۡتِيلاً (٤)

English Sahih : Or add to it, and recite the Qur`an with measured recitation. (4)

Deutsch Aburida : oder füge ein wenig hinzu - und trage den Quran mit Tartil vor. (4)

إِنَّا سَنُلۡقِى عَلَيۡكَ قَوۡلاً۬ ثَقِيلاً (٥)

English Sahih : Indeed, We will cast upon you a heavy word. (5)

Deutsch Aburida : Wahrlich, Wir legen dir da ein Wort auf, das gewichtig ist. (5)

إِنَّ نَاشِئَةَ ٱلَّيۡلِ هِىَ أَشَدُّ وَطۡـًٔ۬ا وَأَقۡوَمُ قِيلاً (٦)

English Sahih : Indeed, the hours of the night are more effective for concurrence [of heart and tongue] and more suitable for words. (6)

Deutsch Aburida : Wahrlich, der Anbruch der Nacht ist die beste Zeit zur Selbstzucht und zur Erreichung von Aufrichtigkeit im Reden. (6)

إِنَّ لَكَ فِى ٱلنَّہَارِ سَبۡحً۬ا طَوِيلاً۬ (٧)

English Sahih : Indeed, for you by day is prolonged occupation. (7)

Deutsch Aburida : Du hast ja gewiß während des Tages eine lange Beschäftigung. (7)

وَٱذۡكُرِ ٱسۡمَ رَبِّكَ وَتَبَتَّلۡ إِلَيۡهِ تَبۡتِيلاً۬ (٨)

English Sahih : And remember the name of your Lord and devote yourself to Him with [complete] devotion. (8)

Deutsch Aburida : Und gedenke des Namens deines Herrn und wende dich Ihm von ganzem Herzen zu. (8)

رَّبُّ ٱلۡمَشۡرِقِ وَٱلۡمَغۡرِبِ لَآ إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ فَٱتَّخِذۡهُ وَكِيلاً۬ (٩)

English Sahih : [He is] the Lord of the East and the West; there is no deity except Him, so take Him as Disposer of [your] affairs. (9)

Deutsch Aburida : (Er ist) der Herr des Ostens und des Westens - es ist kein Gott außer Ihm; darum nimm Ihn zum Beschützer. (9)

وَٱصۡبِرۡ عَلَىٰ مَا يَقُولُونَ وَٱهۡجُرۡهُمۡ هَجۡرً۬ا جَمِيلاً۬ (١٠)

English Sahih : And be patient over what they say and avoid them with gracious avoidance. (10)

Deutsch Aburida : Und ertrage in Geduld alles, was sie reden; und halte dich von ihnen in angenehmer Weise zurück. (10)

وَذَرۡنِى وَٱلۡمُكَذِّبِينَ أُوْلِى ٱلنَّعۡمَةِ وَمَهِّلۡهُمۡ قَلِيلاً (١١)

English Sahih : And leave Me with [the matter of] the deniers, those of ease [in life], and allow them respite a little. (11)

Deutsch Aburida : Und überlaß Mir diejenigen, die (die Wahrheit) leugnen und sich des Wohllebens erfreuen; und gewähre ihnen eine kurze Frist. (11)

إِنَّ لَدَيۡنَآ أَنكَالاً۬ وَجَحِيمً۬ا (١٢)

English Sahih : Indeed, with Us [for them] are shackles and burning fire (12)

Deutsch Aburida : Bei Uns sind wahrlich Fesseln und Gahim (12)

وَطَعَامً۬ا ذَا غُصَّةٍ۬ وَعَذَابًا أَلِيمً۬ا (١٣)

English Sahih : And food that chokes and a painful punishment - (13)

Deutsch Aburida : und erstickende Speise und schmerzliche Strafe (13)

يَوۡمَ تَرۡجُفُ ٱلۡأَرۡضُ وَٱلۡجِبَالُ وَكَانَتِ ٱلۡجِبَالُ كَثِيبً۬ا مَّهِيلاً (١٤)

English Sahih : On the Day the earth and the mountains will convulse and the mountains will become a heap of sand pouring down. (14)

Deutsch Aburida : an dem Tage, da die Erde und die Berge erbeben und die Berge eine Menge zusammengesunkener Dünen sein werden. (14)

إِنَّآ أَرۡسَلۡنَآ إِلَيۡكُمۡ رَسُولاً۬ شَـٰهِدًا عَلَيۡكُمۡ كَمَآ أَرۡسَلۡنَآ إِلَىٰ فِرۡعَوۡنَ رَسُولاً۬ (١٥)

English Sahih : Indeed, We have sent to you a Messenger as a witness upon you just as We sent to Pharaoh a messenger. (15)

Deutsch Aburida : Wahrlich, Wir haben euch einen Gesandten geschickt, der euer Zeuge ist, wie Wir zu Pharao einen Gesandten geschickt hatten. (15)

فَعَصَىٰ فِرۡعَوۡنُ ٱلرَّسُولَ فَأَخَذۡنَـٰهُ أَخۡذً۬ا وَبِيلاً۬ (١٦)

English Sahih : But Pharaoh disobeyed the messenger, so We seized him with a ruinous seizure. (16)

Deutsch Aburida : Doch Pharao widersetzte sich dem Gesandten; darum erfaßten Wir ihn mit einem schrecklichen Strafgericht. (16)

فَكَيۡفَ تَتَّقُونَ إِن كَفَرۡتُمۡ يَوۡمً۬ا يَجۡعَلُ ٱلۡوِلۡدَٲنَ شِيبًا (١٧)

English Sahih : Then how can you fear, if you disbelieve, a Day that will make the children white- haired? (17)

Deutsch Aburida : Wie wollt ihr euch, wenn ihr ungläubig seid, wohl vor einem Tag schützen, der Kinder zu Greisen macht? (17)

ٱلسَّمَآءُ مُنفَطِرُۢ بِهِۦ‌ۚ كَانَ وَعۡدُهُ ۥ مَفۡعُولاً (١٨)

English Sahih : The heaven will break apart therefrom; ever is His promise fulfilled. (18)

Deutsch Aburida : Der Himmel wird sich an ihm spalten! Seine Verheißung muß in Erfüllung gehen. (18)

إِنَّ هَـٰذِهِۦ تَذۡڪِرَةٌ۬‌ۖ فَمَن شَآءَ ٱتَّخَذَ إِلَىٰ رَبِّهِۦ سَبِيلاً (١٩)

English Sahih : Indeed, this is a reminder, so whoever wills may take to his Lord a way. (19)

Deutsch Aburida : Dies ist wahrlich eine Ermahnung. So nehme nun, wer da will, den Weg zu seinem Herrn. (19)

۞ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ يَعۡلَمُ أَنَّكَ تَقُومُ أَدۡنَىٰ مِن ثُلُثَىِ ٱلَّيۡلِ وَنِصۡفَهُ ۥ وَثُلُثَهُ ۥ وَطَآٮِٕفَةٌ۬ مِّنَ ٱلَّذِينَ مَعَكَ‌ۚ وَٱللَّهُ يُقَدِّرُ ٱلَّيۡلَ وَٱلنَّہَارَ‌ۚ عَلِمَ أَن لَّن تُحۡصُوهُ فَتَابَ عَلَيۡكُمۡ‌ۖ فَٱقۡرَءُواْ مَا تَيَسَّرَ مِنَ ٱلۡقُرۡءَانِ‌ۚ عَلِمَ أَن سَيَكُونُ مِنكُم مَّرۡضَىٰ‌ۙ وَءَاخَرُونَ يَضۡرِبُونَ فِى ٱلۡأَرۡضِ يَبۡتَغُونَ مِن فَضۡلِ ٱللَّهِ‌ۙ وَءَاخَرُونَ يُقَـٰتِلُونَ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ‌ۖ فَٱقۡرَءُواْ مَا تَيَسَّرَ مِنۡهُ‌ۚ وَأَقِيمُواْ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَءَاتُواْ ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ وَأَقۡرِضُواْ ٱللَّهَ قَرۡضًا حَسَنً۬ا‌ۚ وَمَا تُقَدِّمُواْ لِأَنفُسِكُم مِّنۡ خَيۡرٍ۬ تَجِدُوهُ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ هُوَ خَيۡرً۬ا وَأَعۡظَمَ أَجۡرً۬ا‌ۚ وَٱسۡتَغۡفِرُواْ ٱللَّهَ‌ۖ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ غَفُورٌ۬ رَّحِيمُۢ (٢٠)

English Sahih : Indeed, your Lord knows, [O Muhammad], that you stand [in prayer] almost two thirds of the night or half of it or a third of it, and [so do] a group of those with you. And Allah determines [the extent of] the night and the day. He has known that you [Muslims] will not be able to do it and has turned to you in forgiveness, so recite what is easy [for you] of the Qur`an. He has known that there will be among you those who are ill and others traveling throughout the land seeking [something] of the bounty of Allah and others fighting for the cause of Allah. So recite what is easy from it and establish prayer and give zakah and loan Allah a goodly loan. And whatever good you put forward for yourselves - you will find it with Allah. It is better and greater in reward. And seek forgiveness of Allah. Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful. (20)

Deutsch Aburida : Dein Herr weiß wahrlich, daß du (im Gebet etwas) weniger als zwei Drittel der Nacht stehst und (manchmal) eine Hälfte oder ein Drittel (der Nacht), und ein Teil derer, die mit dir sind (, tut desgleichen) Und Allah bestimmt das Maß der Nacht und des Tages. Er weiß, daß ihr sie (die Ausdauer) nicht werdet verkraften können. Darum hat Er Sich euch mit Nachsicht zugewandt. So tragt denn so viel vom Quran vor, wie es (euch) leicht fällt. Er weiß, daß einige unter euch sein werden, die krank sind, und andere, die im Lande umherreisen - nach Allahs Gnadenfülle strebend -, und wieder andere, die für Allahs Sache kämpfen. So tragt von ihm das vor, was (euch) leicht fällt, und verrichtet das Gebet und entrichtet die Zakah und gebt Allah ein gutes Darlehen. Und das, was ihr an Gutem für eure Seelen vorausschickt, werdet ihr bei Allah als besseren und größeren Lohn finden. Und bittet Allah um Vergebung. Wahrlich, Allah ist Allvergebend, Barmherzig. (20)
